Korean Special Food!

For the longest time, I've been kind of bitter because some genius decided it would be a great idea to replace Pinata's restaurant with Jang Kum Tofu Restaurant. So today, I bit the bullet and had lunch there. The menu seemed a little funny, but I've never had Korean food before.

A lot of the items were expensive. They did however have lunch specials that were $5.99. That was kind of cool. They only give you four items to choose from. Oh, excuse me, they weren't lunch specials. It was the lunch box! (Andrew knows what I'm talking about).

The awesome thing was there was a side of the menu entitled, "Korean Special Food". On the Korean special food menu, was Bibimbap. The picture of it looked good, but I think I if I were to order it, I may say something like, "I would like the Bibmmmbop, please". Then there was the Pizza Don Katsu, which is some sort of pork cutlet pizza. Then you have the Mung Bean Paste Pancake. I mean how can you go wrong with Mung. I know I can't!

I took the easy way out and ordered me a B.B.Q. Chicken Lunch Box. In that you get chicken, rice, some sort of noodles, tofu, cucumbers, salad, and Korean special soup. The soup was different. It was just broth, these little leaves of some sort, and some weird seafood. After the meal, you get a small serving of frozen yogurt. Yum Yum.

I don't know if I'll ever eat there again, but it sure was an experience.

Today was Christmas day. We opened up our presents went to get some cold cuts from Ralph's because everyone else was closed. Then we went to see a movie that I've been bagging on for a couple of weeks. Yes, it was Alvin and the Chipmunks.

I came in thinking horrible things. They weren't the size of the originals, They all wear "hoodies", Alvin doesn't wear his trademark cap, Jason Lee plays Dave, Alvin eats Theodore's poop. Actually, in the preview it was Alvin, but in the movie it was Simon. What...ever...

So I start watching the movie, and I was really thinking that it was lame. Then, it gets to the part where Dave hears them sing for the first time. He realizes that they can sing. He puts them to sleep and as there sleeping, he gets the idea of "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" Then as I was watching this scene, I started getting goosebumps because, I grew up on this. At this point, I started to really enjoy the movie.

There were a lot of things that really bugged me about the movie, but all and all it was a good family Christmas movie. The cool thing was during the credits roll, they did show the evolution of the Chipmunks. I thought that was awesome!

One little piece of trivia:
Before there was even a concept of the Chipmunks having a TV show, they were the actual size and color of the ones in the movie, well just a little different. I guess that's why I had a problem with the movie in the first place. I was used to the Chipmunks of the eighties and nineties and not the Chipmunks of the fifties.
-Merry Christmas

I also made my own evolution of the Chipmunks.

Freaking Tom Morello

Today I was playing my new favorite waste of time, Guitar Hero 3. It was going good until I got to the point of the game where I had to play, "Story of my Life", by Social Distortion. It's not that it was difficult. It is actually one of the first songs to play in the game. The song is just very long and after a while, I start sucking because my hand starts to hurt.

Then later, you get to battle with Tom Morello, the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, which are bands I both like. Anyway, I tried a handful of times to beat the jerk, but I just could not beat him. Then in the game it asked me if I wanted to try again or wuss out. I guess I'm a wuss.

I freaking don't like you, Tom Morello, I don't care if you are a good guitar player, you stink as a human being.

Ooooh look at me, I'm Tom Morello, I'm bald, I have no hair, I'm always upset at something

The Utimate Battle of the Bands

Here it is, my second to the last ventting session on Alvin and the Chipmunks. You see, this is the way the Chipmunks should be.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hey everybody, Instead of sending out the usual Christmas card this year, I give you all this:

Christmas isn't just for presents or family fights. It's a time that we celebrate the birth of Jesus. It's a time that we get into the spirit of giving. It is probably the time that we are at our most humble. It is a time that we look back and reflect.

One of the things I have reflected on this year is friendships. I didn't have any "real" friends until I started coming to church in 1998. From that time to the present, I have seen many transitions in friends. Some of them faded away, some got married and many of my friends have moved away. I have friends that vary in age. For instance, there's Will Humbert who is in his fourties, Amy Morrison, who is who is ony a year and a half younger than me, and Kevin "Paddy" Wilkinson who is only eighteen. Friends come in all ages, shapes, and sizes. and I appreciate you all.

To everyone out there in the Lunaverse, I love you all. You mean a lot to me...
Paddy: Hey! It's me, Paddy
Ooongatz: Oaharah Oaharah Oaharah Oah
Chris: Before I go give Ooongatz a super smile, Merry Christmas you guys.

I Am Eating My Words

In an earlier post, I was not going to see the new Alvin And The Chipmunks Movie because I thought it looked pretty lame. Then, I talked to my mom last night. Everything changed, because now we are going to go see it on Christmas day. I was thinking that it was kind of nice because we used to watch the T.V. show together when I was little. So what if I have low expectations, I'm hanging out with my mom on Christmas day!

More Movies To Come!

The next batch of movies is going to be a trilogy and they are going to be made back to back. You know like Back To The Furture Parts 2 and 3. It is going to be a joint effort with other people lending their hand to the project, which will make it kind of special. If you would like to lend your voice, leave a comment. I hope to start work on it in January and I hope to have it out by the middle of February. Until then, here are the three movies. Enjoy!

Judging A Movie By It's Promotions

Like many of you out there, I too used to rush home after school to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid. They were always doing something to get into trouble and they would always find a way to squeeze in a concert. Heck, I can still name everybody on the show. There was Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Dave, Brittney, Eleanor, Janette... okay I forgot the name of the old lady who looked after the Chipettes. I can still remember my two favorite episodes. The Chip Punk episode where they wanted to get into Punk Rock and of couse the one with very special guest star, Mr.T. But something horrible has happened and I NEED to address this.

Hollywood decided it was going to be a great idea to bring back the chipmunks and at first I was all for it. It was about time that the younger generations knew who the Chipmunks were. Think about it, my parents grew up with The Alvin Show in the 60s, We grew up with Alvin and the Chipmunks in the 80s and early 90s. I was kind of thinking that this generation should deserve their own chipmunks. Then, I saw the poster. They were dressed up like little gangsta chipmunks. Then, when I saw The Simpsons Movie, they showed a preview for Alvin and The Chipmunks. I actually got upset. They destroyed the Chipmunks, people!!!

There are just so many things wrong with it and it's not even out yet. First, where's Alvin's hat. Second, I don't EVER remember them wearing "hoodies". Then, they're the size of actual chipmunks. Alvin eats poo. Oh yeah they got Jason Lee to play Dave. Don't get me wrong, I like Jason Lee. I think he's a good actor. I don't really think he fits the character of Dave Seville. I think they should have gone with Steve Carrell, Adam Sandler, Harland Williams (For those of you that don't know him, he was the crazy hitch hiker in, There's Something About Mary. He also had a show on The WB called Simon. He also was in the Disney movie Rocketman.) maybe Jim Carrey, or Tom Hanks. Too bad Tom Hanks is a serious actor now. I'm done!

One more thing, Does anybody remember the opening to the show later on where the music was more rockin?
Please comment

Christmas Shopping

Here's one word of advice for you if you decide to do your Christmas shopping at Ross: DON'T

I found a couple of things I wanted to get for somebody, and the lines were ridiculous. First of all the lines are not organized whatsoever. I stepped in line and this lady said, "Hey get the F outta here! I was here first!" I told her that I didn't notice that she was in line and I appologized. I moved into another line. Then I found out it was for returns. Which was kind of confusing because there was no sign that indicated that it was for returns. It turned out there was a sign but it was in Spanish. My bad!
