Downey - Mexico's Little Brother

Today I woke up and went to get my paycheck. I got on my bike and rode to Albertsons and noticed that McDonalds was closed. I just thought they were remodeling or something. then I get inside of Albertsons and noticed that the deli, bakery, and meat departments were all down. I thought it was weird and just didn't ask any questions.

Then I got hungry. I noticed that El Taco was closed. Then I went to Pete's Patio and it was closed too. I got to Norms and it was closed as well. This seemed like something out of a really bad horror movie. So I went to God's gift to Downey, Del Taco. That was closed. There was a sign saying that the water here in Downey has been contaminated. This sucked cause I was really hungry. That is why the name of this blog is entitled, "Downey - Mexico's Little Brother" because of the water. Not because of the hispanic population.

Rollie Pollie Fishheads

Last week I spent three days camping at Irvine Lake with my good friends Scott, Richard, and Mike. It was a good time because I really have not seen any of those guys in a long time (Except for Scott. I saw him two or three weeks ago).

On Thursday, we went fishing. Well Scott, Mike, and I went fishing. Richard just kinda enjoied the day on the pontoon boat. A few minutes in, Mike caught a fish. Then I was thinking to my self that I had to catch a fish too. So in my head I prayed that I would catch a fish.

Time had passed and I knew that I had to stay patient. Then I just happened to look at my pole and the line was going crazy! I jumped and reeled that sucker in. It took a long time to get it in. At one point I really wanted to give up, but I had to push myself to finish. A few minutes later the fish started to surface. It looked pretty big to Scott. I didn't notice it. I kept reeling and reeling. My arms were feeling like noodles at this point.

I finally got the fish on the boat. It was huge. It was probably fifteen pounds. I was really excited that something like that finally happened and people were there to see it. It was the biggest fish I had ever caught. I really wanted to take it home and have proof that I caught a fish that big. You know, instead of telling "fish stories" (I caught a fish this big, but I had to let him go). We just didn't have the room for it.

Here's the picture so you guys can believe me.

Sorry, I am ashamed, but I Kinda Thought This Was Cool.

Sunday night I was channel surfing and I saw Josh Groban sing a bunch of theme songs. Plus he sings the actual lyrics to M*A*S*H*. Check it out.

The Jonas Brothers - Why I HATE Them!

I don't know if you have been to my Facebook or not, but lately I have been bagging on a certain group of brothers who call themselves the Jonas Brothers Band. If you've been living under a rock for the past couple of years, you have no idea who I am talking about. The Jonas Brothers (or in some circles, JoBros) are a group of untalented brothers who can't sing, but yet America, (I'm sorry, THE WORLD) is in love with these guys. I still don't see why they made the cover of Rolling Stone. Tiger Beat, I understand, because teenage girls think everybody who is under the age of 21 is hot and they don't really care if anybody is talented. But this is Rolling Stone Magazine. I mean c'mon! I sometimes wonder why they have a recording contract and I don't.

Another thing I really don't understand is why you never see the drummer. I mean, I saw a music video (which I will post at the end). One brother was "singing", one on bass, the other on guitar. Where is the drummer? You may notice in the video that there is a drum kit, but no drummer. There is also an empty piano, but there is no piano in the song. Then, In the words of Doug Aldridge, "Whut up with that"! If I was the drummer, I would sue. So, Jonas Brother Drummer, if you are reading this, Please sue the crap out of the Jonas Brothers. I urge you, please.

I'm done venting. Here is the video I promised. Don't enjoy

It Just Feels Great To Be Twenty-Eight

Saturday was my birthday and all I did was go to Olvera Street and watch Burn after Reading. I didn't really feel like doing much. I think it's because I'm older know. There is so much more I could have done, but for the first time ever I just wanted to chill. Does that seem odd? Am I actually doing something I told myself I would never do and get old? Maybe it's just me getting mature. Nevermind the title, It doesn't feel great to be twenty-eight. I am old and miserable. Help me aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Single VS. Double

Yesterday I stumbled into McDonalds for my break at work. I stumbled because as I was opening the door, somebody on the other side was opening it as well. I lost my balance and that's the story. I only had a couple of bucks on me and I didn't feel like using my debit card. So I had this dilemma, should I get a single cheeseburger for .99, or for a penny more, I could get a double cheeseburger. So I went for the double. The end.
